Of Temples and Blessings!







Another tradition that is significant to the celebration of New year by Srilankan Buddhist is the visit to the temple. Here families come to pay their respects to the head monk and the Buddha.


A white thread tied on the right wrist is a symbolic representation of blessing.




Hindu gods still permeate Buddhist religous rituals. Belivers or not, the artistic appeal is undeniable.
