Painful Beauty

I stood and sang Nigeria's National anthem for the first time in a very long while. It was during the closing ceremony of the Abuja carnival. I was shocked that there was still any trace of patroitism left in me, considering how disillusioned i have been feeling lately.

I've never felt so proudly Nigerian, it was a weird feeling, i loved all the performers for their sheer cheerfulness, they hid well the challenges they were facing.
